IT Audit Course by National Audit Department

The first IT Audit Course under the MTCP (Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme) was held at the National Audit Academy from 19 to 30 November 2007 is proving that National Audit Department committed in IT Auditing. In this first IT Audit Course  26 participants from Bahamas, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, China, Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Lao PDR, Maldives, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia were represent by Auditor from National Audit Department itself.

The goal of this course was mainly on discussion and knowledge sharing about the fundamental principles, concepts and methodsof reviewing IT Controls/ IT Auditing. Besides attending lectures, all participants in group discussions doing specific case studies with IT related issues as well as exposed to a software ACL - Audit Command Language through a hands-on session.

Three guest speakers were invited to share their experiences in IT Auditing . They were as follows:

1) Mr John Thurley -
 IT Consultant for the International Technical Co-operation Team, UK National Audit Office

2) Mr Ranjit Singh -
Managing Director  and Advisor  at Columbus Circle

3) Ms Gayah Gulam Haidar
Senior Manager at Multimedia Development Corporation (MDec)

After successfully organize that IT Audit Course and shown a good commitment in IT Audit in National Audit Department itself, this National Audit Department has given opportunity and sponsored by MTCP to organize the same IT Audit Course for every year until now there are five IT Audit course held every year. Latest IT Audit host by National Audit Department on 14 to 25 November 2011.
